In Tuesday’s (3/17) Atlanta Journal Constitution, James L. Paulk writes, “This year’s Savannah Music Festival, running Wednesday through April 5, includes the usual mix of jazz and classical concerts. But there are more other things than ever before. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, which closes out the festival, will perform a new composition by Christopher Theofanidis, co-commissioned by the festival. The April 5 program also includes George Gershwin’s Concerto in F, for which the orchestra will be joined by the Marcus Roberts Trio. … In addition to the ASO on the classical side, the Academy of Ancient Music, directed by Richard Egarr, will perform the complete Brandenburg Concertos (March 27). The Prazak Quartet will perform an all-Czech program (March 21). And violinists Daniel Hope and Lorenza Borrani will premiere Alexandra Du Bois’ ‘Duo for Violins,’ commissioned by the festival (March 22nd).”
