The Orchestras Feeding America food drive was featured on CBS television’s Early Show yesterday morning. Jesse Rosen, president and CEO of the League of American Orchestras, spoke to co-host Harry Smith about the national scope and wide-reaching impact of the food drive, and Diane Wittry, who is music director of three orchestras—the Allentown, Norwalk, and Ridgewood symphonies—said that orchestras not only feed the soul, but with the food drive they are now helping to feed the hungry. Representatives of the Allentown, Norwalk, and Ridgewood orchestras; the New Jersey Symphony; the New York Philharmonic; Rhode Island Philharmonic; and the League of American Orchestras appeared on the broadcast, and Harry Smith spoke about his love of classical music and briefly played a flute.
