The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada announced that Christopher Durham has been appointed Director of Symphonic Services. Durham has worked for the AFM since 1989, where he has been responsible for organizing, preparing, and developing strategy for bargaining proposals and negotiations. Durham, a violinist, was a member of the St. Louis Municipal Theater orchestra from 1977 to 1989 and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 1991. “Chris’s work with local officers on matters affecting orchestras of all sizes, and his ability to interact with large and small local unions, will prove invaluable as he serves the AFM’s orchestras and their locals,” said Thomas F. Lee, AFM’s president.
