“June in Buffalo,” an annual weeklong contemporary-music festival in Buffalo, New York, will take place this year from June 1 to 7, under the artistic direction of David Felder. During the festival, 25 student composers, chosen from a pool of 90 applicants, will hear their works performed alongside those of faculty members Martin Bresnick, David Felder, Bernard Rands, Mathew Rosenblum, and Harvey Sollberger. Resident ensembles include the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Meridian Arts Ensemble, New York New Music Ensemble, Slee Sinfonietta, and Verge Ensemble. Also performing at the festival will be violist Christophe Desjardins, accordionist Mikko Luoma, composer/computer music specialist Philippe Manoury, and composer/bassist Stefano Scodanibbio. Events take place at University of Buffalo’s Baird Recital Hall and Lippes Concert Hall. The festival was founded in 1975 by Morton Feldman.
