The deadline for submissions of works for the annual Jules Léger Prize for New Chamber Music is June 1. The competition is designed to encourage the creation of new chamber music and foster its performance by Canadian chamber groups. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status, and composers may not submit more than two scores. The winner of the competition will receive $7,500 and promotion by the Canada Council for the Arts; the winning work will also be broadcast on CBC Radio 2 and Radio-Canada’s Espace Musique broadcast.
