Tanglewood is offering four new programs and promotions this summer: Grass Pass; a 45/45 Clark and Tanglewood ticket promotion; two backstage-pass weekends; and a one-day “university.” The Tanglewood Grass Pass is good for lawn admission to all classical concerts during the season; the $250 non-transferable photo ID pass must be purchased in person at the box office. The 45/45 Clark and Tanglewood ticket promotion is a $45 ticket package good for two lawn tickets to any classical-music event at Tanglewood and two tickets for admission to the Francine Clark Art Institute, in nearby Williamstown, Massachusetts. The two other promotions include backstage passes ($500-$882 per person) for “Tanglewood Immersion Weekends,” which include private picnics and receptions with Boston Symphony Orchestra musicians, classes, discussions, and workshops relating to the weekend’s programming, along with food, parking, and hotel accommodations; and a “one day university” on August 23 with three lectures in Ozawa Hall by Harvard professors Shawn Achor and Thomas Kelly and Yale professor Paul Bloom. The day concludes with Michael Tilson Thomas leading the BSO’s final Tanglewood performance of the summer: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Ives’s Thanksgiving and Forefathers’ Day with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.
