A report in Tuesday’s (6/23) Fayetteville Observer (North Carolina) states, “The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra’s music director and conductor will be doing double duty for the next year. On Monday, the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra announced that Fouad Fakhouri will be their principal guest conductor for one year. The appointment takes effect Aug. 3. He will retain his position in Fayetteville, which he has held since May 2004. As guest conductor in Greensboro, he will conduct the symphony’s education and holiday concerts and the first half of the October Masterworks Concerts. … Fakhouri also will lead the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestras, which are made up of six ensembles and four conductors. He will take the youth on a European tour to Munich, Germany, and Austrian cities of Salzburg and Vienna.”
