In a July 7 segment on CNN, part of the ongoing series “Black In America,” Soledad O’Brien reports on the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program, an initiative that helps give young minorities opportunities in classical music. The segment focuses on 17-year-old African American violist Drew Forde, who receives free lessons and tuition for summer music camps from the program, and features interviews with Forde, his mother, program founder Azira Hill, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra President and CEO Allison Vulgamore.
