The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has announced that all tickets to its performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on July 23 are being offered at $20. The ticket price for the concert at Princeton’s Richardson Auditorium resulted from a sponsorship by a Princeton couple, William and Judith Scheide. Mark Laycock, who served as music director of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra from 1986 to 2007, will conduct the concert, which also features members of the Princeton-based Opera New Jersey. Opera New Jersey’s chorus will perform along with four of its soloists: soprano Sharon Cheng, mezzo-soprano Ellen PutneyMoore, tenor Jonathan Boyd, and bass-baritone Matthew Burns. Also on the concert are Three Dances from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride.
