Four emerging composers will have new works performed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra during EarShot’s New Music Readings July 16 and 17 at Denver’s Boettcher Concert Hall. The composers, selected from a national call for scores this spring that yielded 180 entries, are Yotam Haber, Angel Lam, Jeremy Podgursky, and Tim Sullivan. Delta David Gier and Fergus Macleod will conduct the orchestra in the readings. Composers will receive advice and feedback at the readings from Gier and Macleod, as well as from composers Derek Bermel and Roberto Sierra and American Composers Orchestra Artistic Director Robert Beaser. This is the CSO’s first partnership with EarShot, a nationwide network of new music readings and related composer-development programs. EarShot is a partnership among American Composers Orchestra, American Composers Forum, American Music Center, the League of American Orchestras, and Meet The Composer.
