New Jersey’s Bay-Atlantic Symphony announced that it has received a $40,000 PNC Arts Alive grant, which will allow the orchestra to price all tickets for its subscription concerts at a flat rate of $25. The grant will also be used to subsidize ticket prices for a Benny Goodman tribute concert in September at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The grant is part of $1 million in grants given in 2009 by the PNC Foundation through PNC Arts Alive, a five-year, $5 million program launched this year to support visual and performing arts organizations in Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey with the goal of increasing engagement in the arts and making the arts more available to diverse audiences. “We are extremely proud and grateful for this grant, which will help to make our concerts more accessible to people in these tough economic times,” said Paul Herron, the orchestra’s executive director. “Anything that enables us to bring great music to more people helps us in our mission.”
