The Florida Orchestra, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, has updated its website with the goal of better serving all members of its community. Among the features of the redesigned site are video messages from Music Director Stefan Sanderling; audio clips of music from each Masterworks concert; a searchable season calendar; a FAQ section; printable program notes; a media area with downloadable images; simplified ticket purchasing; and portals for supporting the orchestra through donations and volunteer guilds. For musicians of The Florida Orchestra, there is a new “orchestra members” section, as well as a “hire a musician” page with audition information; the area also will eventually allow musicians to post upcoming performance dates and lesson opportunities. In addition to its own website, www.floridaorchestra.org, The Florida Orchestra also maintains a presence on Facebook and Twitter.
