The Lake Placid (N.Y.) Sinfonietta has announced the appointment of RON SPIGELMAN to a three-year term as music director, effective October 1. Spigelman is currently music director of the Springfield (Mo.) Symphony Orchestra and principal pops conductor of the Fort Worth and Syracuse symphony orchestras. Originally from Australia, he studied trumpet in Great Britain and is an honors graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Music. He has served as associate conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and as music director of the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Texas Chamber Orchestra, and Fort Worth Dallas Ballet.
