The National Arts Centre (Ottawa, Ontario) has announced that YOSUKE KAWASAKI, concertmaster of the National Arts Centre Orchestra since June 2007, has been awarded tenure in that position. He is also concertmaster of Japan’s Mito Chamber Orchestra and Saito Kinen Orchestra; principal guest concertmaster of Century Orchestra Osaka, also in Japan; and co-founder (with pianist Vadim Serebryany and cellist Wolfram Koessel) of the ensemble Trio+. Kawasaki began violin studies with his father, Masao Kawasaki, and continued with Setsu Goto. At age ten he entered the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School, and subsequently trained at Juilliard under the tutelage of Dorothy DeLay, Hyo Kang, Felix Galimir, and Joel Smirnoff.
