The Bay-Atlantic Symphony announced that it has received a grant of $40,000 from New Jersey Cultural Trust, a division of New Jersey’s Department of State. The Bridgeton, New Jersey-based orchestra was one of fifteen arts groups, selected from 91 applicants, to receive funding from the Cultural Trust, a public-private partnership that supports projects and activities from planning and building cash reserves to development and marketing activities. “The cultural community is an important part of New Jersey’s economy,” said Josh Weston, Cultural Trust’s chairman. “The Cultural Trust has always been intended as a means to help sustain organizations at all stages of development.” The Bay-Atlantic Symphony opens its 26th season on November 6 with music of Rossini, Mendelssohn, and Gaetano Panariello; the orchestra performs throughout the season in Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May, and Gloucester counties.
