Applications for Midori’s Orchestra Residencies Program are now available for download from www.GoToMidori.com/orp/. The program, established by violinist Midori in 2004, aims to cultivate the connection between a youth orchestra and its local professional orchestra, as well as to improve relationships with visiting artists, orchestra administration, and the community at large. Through her ORP, Midori has performed with youth orchestras in ten states from Alaska to Vermont; future residencies will take Midori to Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. The application deadline is March 1, 2010 for a residency in the 2011-12 season. Full eligibility requirements can be found online at www.GoToMidori.com/orp/; specific questions may be addressed to Kelly Gehrs at kagehrs@earthlink.net.
