The Cliburn Foundation has opened voting for its second-ever YouTube Contest for Amateur Classical Pianists. The deadline is November 24 to cast an online ballot for one of 58 pianists who have posted short videos of themselves performing classical piano repertoire. The winner of the YouTube contest receives automatic entry into the Sixth International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas, with the application fee waived. The winner of the first YouTube Contest for Amateur Classical Pianists, in 2008, was Christopher Shih, a 35-year-old physician from Maryland. Videos can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/user/VanCliburnFoundation and ballots can be cast at http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/survey.zgi?p=WEB229UPMBSKGW.
