“Three musicians. One stage. No conductor,” writes Elizabeth L. Harrison in Friday’s (11/20) Great Falls Tribune (Montana). “This is the challenge oboist Molly Trindle faces Sunday in her first-ever chamber music concert. No big deal for most adult professional musicians, but Trindle is a sophomore at Fort Benton High School. … Great Falls audiences will have a chance to see how Trindle and her peers handle the challenge when the Great Falls Youth Orchestra debuts its two chamber ensembles, a wind trio and a string quartet, at the annual fall concert in the Mansfield Theater on Sunday. On the clarinet, oboe and flute, the wind trio will entertain with Paul Koepke’s ‘Two Dances: Minuet, Sarabande,’ and later, the string quartet’s twin violins, viola and cello take on Mozart’s ‘Eine Kleine Nachtmusik K.525, Allegro.’ ‘This is our first time doing it, so it’s a little bit of an experiment,’ said Jessie Knowles, education and outreach coordinator for the Great Falls Symphony. Knowles said the symphony staff wanted to give kids a chance to play in an ensemble, something they don’t get from youth orchestra or the school band.”
