Oregon Music News, an online magazine covering multiple genres of music and focusing on the Oregon music scene, has recently launched at oregonmusicnews.com. The site, based in Portland, is produced in partnership with Music Millennium, a Portland independent music retailer. Categories of music covered at the site include jazz/blues, rock, indie, acoustic, kids, classical, experimental, DJ/dance, and country. Writers and editors at the site include James Bash (classical), Robert Ham (indie), Barbara Mitchell (acoustic), Tara Dublin (rock), and Noah Mickens (experimental), and OMN editor-in-chief Tom D’Antoni (jazz/blues). According to Music Millennium owner Terry Currier, the goal of the partnership is to “develop a publication that could meet consumer expectations and help the local economy ranging from the local record store to the local club owners.”
