League President and CEO Jesse Rosen will be a featured respondent for the performing arts on Thursday, December 10, 2009 during a live webcast of the National Endowment of the Arts roundtable discussion of its 2008 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts, the nation’s largest and most representative study of adults’ arts participation habits. The webcast will be available on the NEA’s Art Works blog from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET) on the NEA website at www.arts.gov. Sunil Iyengar, the NEA’s director of research and analysis, will give a summary presentation of the survey, and the webcast will feature a roundtable discussion among representatives from 40 organizations, including the Future of Music Coalition; Dance/USA; the National Association of Latino Art and Culture; and the National Center for Creativity in Aging. In addition to a response from the League’s Jesse Rosen, the webcast will include formal responses from Helen DeMichiel, from the National Alliance for Media Arts + Culture; and Carlton Turner, from Alternate Roots. The event was convened by NEA Senior Deputy Chairman Joan Shigekawa, who will moderate the roundtable discussion.
