In Sunday’s (12/13) Plain Dealer (Cleveland), Zachary Lewis writes, “For as long as people have been fleeing snow and traveling by jet, Cleveland has been wintering in Miami. Lately, though, there’s been another good reason to head south: the Cleveland Orchestra’s residency at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Yes, on three weekends this winter, it’s possible to walk off the beach and into a performance by the musical gem of Northeast Ohio at Knight Concert Hall. As you look over the orchestra’s Miami schedule and consider a trip, keep in mind that Southeast Florida is more than its endless waterfront, clement temperatures and upscale shopping. For the culturally minded traveler from Cleveland, there’s a lot to do beyond attend concerts. On my last trip to the city, to cover the orchestra, I found time to visit three of the city’s many nonmusical attractions… I know I only scratched the surface when it comes to the city’s culture.”
