The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra has appointed JONATHAN KRETSCHMER second trumpet. He recently completed six seasons as artist-in-residence and second trumpet with Michigan’s Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, where he was co-founder of Kalamazoo Brass. Kretschmer had earlier served as principal trumpet in the Battle Creek (Mich.) Symphony Orchestra and as second trumpet in the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra. A native of Lafayette, California, and an alumnus of the San Francisco Youth Symphony, he holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Indiana University and a master’s from The Juilliard School.
