The Juilliard School will host a tribute gala on April 26 honoring President Joseph W. Polisi, who is celebrating 25 years with the school. A gala performance at Juilliard’s Peter Jay Sharp Theater at 7 p.m. will feature alumni including soprano Renée Fleming, actress Laura Linney, and choreographer Adam Hougland; also performing will be Juilliard’s Afiara String Quartet, the Juilliard Orchestra, fifteen-year-old Juilliard Pre-College pianist Conrad Tao, and singers from the school’s Vocal Arts program. The evening will include video tributes from prominent alumni. Following the tribute, there will be dinner and dancing on Lincoln Center Plaza. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for Juilliard students. Polisi became Juilliard’s sixth president in September 1984; the school has been honoring his years of service throughout the 2009-10 season.
