In Monday’s (3/22) News Journal (Wilmington, Delaware), Ryan Cormier writes, “Usually, reviews of Delaware Symphony Orchestra performances come in the form of applause from about 1,200 audience members each night at The Grand in Wilmington. With Tuesday’s release of the 104-year-old orchestra’s first album—‘Interchange: Concertos by Rodrigo and Assad’ with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet—the reviews will be in print, and DSO Music Director David Amado will be reading them.” Cormier notes that the first review of the Telarc Release was a rave by John Puccio on his blog Classical Candor. “The album’s release will make Delaware music history in two ways—it’s the first commercially released recording for the Wilmington-based DSO and the first album recorded on The Grand’s stage. The 55-minute album was recorded at The Grand last May and features the world premiere recording of a new concerto by Brazilian guitar master and composer Sergio Assad.”
