In Sunday’s (4/4) Fort Worth Star-Telegram (Texas), Tim Madigan writes, “With the help of an international executive recruiting firm hired in February, Fort Worth’s Van Cliburn Foundation hopes to have a new president in place by the end of summer. That would give the incoming executive time to prepare for the Cliburn competition for outstanding amateurs in 2011 and for the flagship 2013 international piano competition, Cliburn board Chairwoman Alann Sampson said last week.” Former President and Executive Director Richard Rodzinski “retired last year after 23 years at the Cliburn and is now working as a senior adviser to Russia’s Tchaikovsky Competition. Also gone are staff members who were in charge of artist management, marketing and finance. The latest departure was Janice Mayer, who was hired in September to oversee marketing and artist management. … Last week, the foundation announced the hiring of a marketing director, and a new finance director will be in place by mid-April. But in the last several months at the Cliburn, ‘everyone has been asked to do more than their own jobs,’ Sampson said.”
