STILIAN KIROV has been named to a one-year post as assistant conductor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and music director of the orchestra’s Memphis Youth Symphony Program. Founder and music director of the Art Symphony Orchestra in New York City, Kirov has conducted orchestras in his native Bulgaria as well as in France, Germany, Italy, and the United States. He has served as assistant conductor of the National Repertory Orchestra (Breckenridge, Colorado) and of France’s Orchestre de l’Opéra de Massy. He is a graduate of the Orchestral Conducting Program of The Juilliard School and an award-winning pianist, having received the gold medal in the 2001 Claude Kahn International Piano Competition in Paris.
