The National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa, Ontario) has announced the selection of JESSICA LINNEBACH as associate concertmaster following a competitive audition for the post. Linnebach first performed with the NACO in 1990 as a seven-year-old violin soloist, and a decade later joined the orchestra on a tour of Europe and the Middle East. She participated for three years (2000-03) in the National Arts Centre’s Young Artist Program, becoming a full-time member of the orchestra in 2002. Linnebach is a founding member of the Zukerman Chamber Players, a string quintet formed by NACO Music Director Pinchas Zukerman in 2003. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was one of the youngest graduates in its history. At eighteen she received a master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music following studies with Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec.
