Conductor COURTNEY LEWIS and composer AARON JAY KERNIS have renewed their contracts with the Minnesota Orchestra. Lewis, a native of Belfast educated at the University of Cambridge and the Royal Northern College of Music, has served as assistant conductor of the orchestra since last fall, and has signed a three-year contract as associate conductor effective in September 2010. Kernis, a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer who co-founded the Minnesota Orchestra Composer Institute in 2001, has extended his contract as director of the institute for two years.
