Conductor Alondra de la Parra, founder and artistic director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, is scheduled to be a guest on NBC’s Today Show on Friday, May 21. During the TV program, NBC correspondent Jenna Hager (née Bush) will visit New York’s P.S. 187 with de la Parra and members of POA to teach a class as part of Niños, the orchestra’s education program in New York City’s public schools. On Friday night, the POA will perform its Mi alma Mexicana program celebrating Mexico’s Bicentennial at Alice Tully Hall at 8 p.m. The Today Show story about de la Parra and the POA is slated to air during the show’s 8 a.m. (ET) segment.
