New England Conservatory has appointed LESLIE WU FOLEY executive director of preparatory and continuing education, effective June 7. Currently director of the Dana Hall School of Music in Wellesley, Mass., she studied at NEC Prep during her high school years and holds a degree from Princeton University, where she majored in art history and performed as principal cellist in the university orchestra. Before taking up her post at the Dana School, Foley was director of the Center for Arts and Community Partnerships at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She had earlier worked at the Boston Symphony Orchestra as associate director of education and community programs, and at the Longy School in Cambridge, Mass., as assistant dean and director of admissions. NEC has also announced that MARK CHURCHILL, longtime dean of the Prep Division and School of Continuing Education, will become dean emeritus while continuing to lead the NEC-based program El Sistema USA.
