Ravinia, the festival presenter based in Highland Park, Ill., has announced the appointment of ANTHONY ROBERTS as director of its professional studies wing, the Steans Institute for Young Artists. Only the second administrative director in the 22-year history of the institute, he succeeds the retiring DIANE DORN. Roberts served previously as Ravinia’s associate director of development, major gifts; succeeding him in that post is DYLAN COMMERET, who has been a member of the Ravinia staff since 2005. Prior to joining Ravinia in 2006, Roberts spent three years as managing director of the American Theater Company in Chicago, and had previously worked at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, first in the area of literary management and then in the development department. Roberts has been active in the Chicago area as a playwright, composer, singer, guitarist, and actor. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, he is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves on the Advisory Board of the Midwest Independent Film Festival.
