Several administrative appointments have been announced by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. RICHARD FRESHWATER has been named vice president and chief financial officer following six years as chief financial officer at the Florida Grand Opera; he had earlier served as director of finance at the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. A Certified Public Accountant, Freshwater holds a degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. HEATHER SHERWOOD has been appointed major gifts officer. Most recently director of organizational advancement at the nonprofit organization Enjoy the Arts, she holds an MBA and a master’s degree in arts administration from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. SUSANA RAMIREZ, formerly with the Fine Arts Fund, has been named director of volunteer services; she holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Universidad Latina in Costa Rica. AMEENAH C. HALL, the CSO’s new director of event planning, comes to the orchestra after serving as events manager for the Cleveland-based organization Speaking of Women’s Health. She is a graduate of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications. KARA SHIBIYA, formerly corporate relations and membership manager with the Cincinnati Arts Museum, has been hired as grants manager; she earned a BFA in theater arts from Northern Kentucky University and a master’s in arts administration from New York University. Also announced by the CSO were the appointments of ERICA WAREHAM as box office manager and BRYAN EVANS as database assistant. NATALIE BIESER, a CSO staff member since last October, has been promoted to full-time communications assistant.
