Saturday’s (6/12) State Journal-Register (Springfield, Illinois) reports, “With spring well under way, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra Guild annual garden tour should be blooming at just the right time. The annual tour, a fundraiser for the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, returns June 19 at five Springfield homes. … Members of the orchestra guild volunteer to raise money and provide other assistance to the orchestra. In addition to the garden tour, the guild raises funds with a Spring Gala and other activities. Proceeds from the garden tour will benefit the overall operations of the professional orchestra, which performs a variety of music in Springfield and Bloomington/Normal. … This year’s event is the orchestra guild’s 21st garden tour. Most of the featured gardens that will be on display June 19 are maintained by the homeowners, who plan, plant and tend to the flowers, grasses, small trees and other features.”
