Tuesday’s (6/15) St. Paul Pioneer Press reports, “Former St. Paul Chamber Orchestra artistic partner Nicholas McGegan has been made an Officer of the British Empire ‘for services to music overseas’ in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list published June 12. Orders of the British Empire are awarded mainly to civilians and service personnel for public service or other distinctions. One of the world’s leading conductors of baroque and classical repertoire, McGegan spent a decade in artistic leadership positions with the SPCO, where he was baroque series director from 1999-2004 and an artistic partner from 2004-09.”
