The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra has announced that St. Louis Public Radio (90.7 KWMU) will broadcast all its Saturday night Wells Fargo Advisors Orchestral Series concerts beginning in the 2010-11 season. The first live broadcast from Powell Hall is scheduled for September 18 in a program to include Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé Symphonic Suite, Kalinnikov’s Symphony No. 1, and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, with soloist Joshua Bell. The broadcasts are the result of a new partnership between the orchestra and the public radio station, which is a member-supported service of the University of Missouri-St. Louis. “St. Louis Public Radio is honored to play a part in bringing these treasured concerts to the St. Louis community for many years to come,” said Tim Eby, the radio station’s general manager.
