TOM STITES, coordinator of fine and performing arts in the Owensboro (Ky.) Public Schools, has been named conductor of the Owensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra and associate conductor of its parent organization, the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. He succeeds JOSEPH CHOI. Stites has more than 30 years of experience as a band and orchestra teacher, and prior to joining the public school system in Owensboro last summer was music director and conductor of the Johnson City (Tenn.) Symphony Orchestra.
