ANTHONY “TOBY” TOLOKAN has been named vice president of artistic planning at the Utah Symphony. He goes to Salt Lake City from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, where for nine years he was director of artistic planning. Prior to joining the Indianapolis Symphony, Tolokan served as artistic administrator for the Seattle Symphony (1995-2002) and as orchestra manager of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra (1985-95). He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Connecticut with an emphasis in violin and orchestra conducting studies.
