The Florida Orchestra, based in St. Petersburg, has appointed ANGELA CASSETTE operations director, effective September 1. She is currently general manager at the Omaha Symphony, a post she assumed in November 2009 following her initial appointment as operations manager the previous year. Cassette is a 2009 graduate of the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management seminar. From 2002 to 2005 she was chamber music coordinator at Rocky Mountain Conservatory, and has served as assistant to Artistic Director Charles Wadsworth at Spoleto Festival USA and Colombia’s Cartagena Music Festival. Trained as a violinist, she graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University and subsequently pursued graduate studies at Arizona State University. While at ASU she served as a teaching assistant and a facilitator for the university’s Visiting String Quartet Residency Program.
