Late last week, the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee approved an FY2011 budget of $170 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Despite the Administration’s request for a lower spending level, the subcommittee approved a $2.5 million increase above its current funding under the new leadership of Chairman Jim Moran (D-VA), who stated: “These increases recognize the value we place, as a Nation, on our artistic and cultural heritage.”
