Kentucky’s Louisville Orchestra has announced that it will perform LIFE: A Journey Through Time this fall as the first of three concerts in the orchestra’s Brown-Forman L.O. WOW! series. The October 2 event chronicles the earth’s history in seven orchestrated movements, with music by Philip Glass and images by National Geographic photographer Frans Lanting. Guest conductor Carolyn Kuan will lead the orchestra in the Whitney Hall performance. A post-performance panel discussion will be held with performers and experts from the Louisville Science Center. LIFE is the result of an artistic collaboration with the IdeaFestival—which takes place in various Louisville venues from September 28 to October 2—and the Louisville Science Center; the program has previously been performed at the World Science Festival in New York; Italy’s TransArt Festival; and the Wild9 World Wilderness Congress in Merida, Mexico.
