ELAYNA DUITMAN has been named to the second violin section of The Cleveland Orchestra, where she made her debut August 2 at the orchestra’s Blossom Music Center. Duitman was a member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 2002 to 2010, and had earlier served in the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, in the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, and, during the 2001-02 season, as associate concertmaster of the Phoenix Symphony. A native of Bradenton, Fla., she is a 1998 graduate of New England Conservatory and holds a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Netherlands).
