The Hilton Head (S.C.) Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of JONATHAN ACETO as director of the HHSO Youth Orchestra. He is active as a performing musician and teacher in the state of Georgia, where he has served as concertmaster of the Macon Symphony Orchestra and principal second violin in the Augusta Symphony Orchestra (now known as Symphony Orchestra Augusta). Aceto is currently on the faculty of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where he teaches violin, viola, chamber music, music appreciation, and world music. He holds doctoral and master’s degrees in performance from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s in performance from the Eastman School of Music.
