Posted on: October 7, 2010

The Houston Symphony has set up a special website where visitors can follow its activities during a seven-city tour of the U.K. this month. During the tour, from October 8 to 16, the orchestra will perform The Planets—An HD Odyssey in the cities of Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Gateshead/Newcastle, Basingstoke, and London. A virtual scrapbook, the site will include an interactive map of the tour cities, behind-the-scenes photos, videos, and blog posts from several orchestra musicians. The U.K. visit is Houston’s first European trip in ten years. The Planets—An HD Odyssey—a sound-and-vision presentation created in conjunction with NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and producer/director Duncan Copp—premiered in Houston in January 2010.
