The winners of the 2010 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition are pianist Michael Brown, baritone Mischa Bouvier, and the Linden String Quartet. Winners of the competition receive a two-year management contract and join the CAG artist roster. As winner of the Guild’s first prize, Brown also received the Victor and Sono Elmaleh Award of $5,000. The three winners were selected from a panel of thirteen finalists, who each performed a 20-minute recital at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City. The ten judges for the competition included Kirk Muspratt, music director of Northwest Indiana Symphony and artistic director of the New Philharmonic (Illinois); flutist Carol Wincenc; and David Rogers, artistic administrator at the Florida Orchestra. CAG’s mission is to discover, nurture, and promote young musicians.
