The Lexington (Mass.) Symphony has appointed VANESSA GARDNER general manager. A horn player, she has performed with such organizations as Boston’s Longwood Symphony Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Nashua (N.H.) Symphony Association, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and Vermont Symphony Orchestra. Gardner also works full-time in the concerts office at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she manages four student ensembles and oversees performances by students, faculty, and guest artists in residence. Also announced by the Lexington Symphony was the appointment of CLAUDIA STUMPF as communications specialist. A member of the orchestra’s viola section and a freelance writer with many years of experience in development and communications writing, Stumpf holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s in English from Tufts University.
