The Virginia Symphony Orchestra, headquartered in Hampton Roads, has announced the appointment of DEBRA M. SANDRY as director of development, effective November 29. She goes to Virginia from Davenport, Iowa, where for the past six years she has served as director of development at the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that she had a successful fundraising career in the field of social services. Sandry recently completed the League of American Orchestras’ Executive Leadership Program 2 for marketing and development professionals, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Marycrest College in Davenport.
