Brevard (N.C.) Music Center has announced the appointment of MARGARET RYAN as president and CEO, effective February 1, 2011. Selected as successor to retiring president JOHN CANDLER following an eight-month search, Ryan has three decades of executive management experience, including the Memphis-based LifeBlood Foundation, which she founded and served for nine years as president and CEO. She has also held leadership positions in the Memphis area with Youth Villages, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, and Metropolitan Interfaith Association. A graduate of the University of Memphis, Ryan was honored with that city’s Outstanding Fund Raising Executive award in 2000.
