The Pulitzer Prize Board has announced that it is now accepting nominations of American compositions for the Prize for Music. Entries must have had their U.S. premiere between January 1 and December 31, 2010 and may include symphonies and operas as well as choral works, music theater, movie scores, jazz, and other non-classical compositions. Among the rule changes for this year: public release of a recording in the U.S. is accepted as the equivalent of a live premiere; submission of a score is recommended but not required; and public release of a recording in the U.S. can include a music file downloaded from a website. Entries must be postmarked by the December 31, 2010 deadline. More information and entry forms can be found at the Pulitzer website http://www.pulitzer.org.
