Orchestra 2001 in Philadelphia has announced the appointment of CHRISTINA S. RUSNAK as executive director and ADAM LESNICK as marketing and education director. WILLIAM GATTI, formerly the orchestra’s office manager, has been promoted to administrative director. Rusnak brings to Orchestra 2001 nineteen years of managerial experience in operational and strategic planning, forecasting, and tactical execution. A composer whose work reflects a diversity of styles, she holds a master’s degree in music composition from the University of North Texas, where she was awarded a Priddy Fellowship in Arts Leadership. Lesnick, Orchestra 2001’s new marketing and education director, has performed as a hornist with the orchestra since its inception in 1988. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and numerous Philadelphia ensembles including the Philadelphia Orchestra; has worked in the education and community outreach departments of the Richmond (Va.) Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra; and was the founder, in 1994, of International Opus, a music publishing company dedicated to ethnically diverse contemporary classical music. Lesnick holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School and was a fellow at Tanglewood Music Center.
