In Thursday’s (1/6) Beacon Journal (Akron, Ohio), Kerry Clawson reports, “The Cleveland Orchestra is offering patrons an easy way to get to its Friday matinee concerts. The orchestra is offering free bus service to Severance Hall for Friday matinees into May, departing at 9:30 a.m. from the Beachwood Place Saks Fifth Avenue upper parking lot, Crocker Park’s Regal Cinema parking lot and St. Basil Church at 8700 Brecksville Road in Brecksville. The first concert to use the service will be the 11 a.m. performance this Friday, featuring music director laureate Christoph von Dohnanyi conducting Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B minor (Pathétique). Other performances of the program are at 8 p.m. Thursday and Saturday at Severance Hall. … Remaining Friday matinee dates are Jan. 21, Feb. 18, May 6 and May 20. … The bus service is sponsored by the Women’s Committee of the Cleveland Orchestra.”
